Clarisonic Aria: Thumbs up

I admit that I’m overly protective of my skin. So, trying a beauty tool like the Clarisonic, despite its rave reviews, scared me. Wouldn’t those bristles damage my skin and stretch out my pores?

Name this product:

The Clarisonic Aria (Clarisonic.com, $199)

How this products looks / feels:

Despite my fears about the Clarisonic being too harsh on my skin, as long as you follow the instructions (it should only graze your skin), you start to notice a difference in your skin in about a week with consistent use. There are also several kinds of brush heads available depending on your specific needs.

What I liked about this product:

That it’s cleaning my skin better than my hands ever could without damaging my pores. I feel more confident that my favorite serums and moisturizers are being absorbed to their full potential.

Describe the application process, how often you used the product and for how long:

I used it once every night before going to bed. It’s been several weeks and it still plays an important role in my skin regimen. It’s safe to use twice a day, but I’m a believer that the oils I wake up with are good for skin. I prefer not to wash them off.

Describe the results you saw:

I noticed my skin was smoother and more even-toned in about a week to two weeks.

I would recommend this product for:

Anyone looking to prevent breakouts, even their skin tone or improve their cleansing results.

Describe what you liked or didn’t like about the application process:

You do have to be careful about the consistency of the cleanser or face wash you use. A gel-like product worked best for me, but your experience may vary.

Additional comments:

With the Clarisonic Aria versus the Mia model, you get a drying stand and a USB charger that makes it great to travel with! We all need to give our skin extra care after the wear and tear of traveling.

Brush heads will cost $40 for two and they last for quite a while. I’m a month in and my brush head is still going strong.
