How to replicate Marc Jacobs designer bangles

Marc by Marc Jacobs bangles
(net-a-porter.com, $156)

Are you as excited as I am that spring is here? When the weather gets warm and the flowers start blooming, I can’t help but start wearing bright colors too. These Marc by Marc Jacobs bangles are so bold and cheerful — and guess what, so easy to make!

Supplies:

  • Plastic lacing cord
  • An old bangle bracelet that you don’t mind covering up
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors

Instructions:

1

Take four pieces of the plastic cord and attach them to the outside of the bangle with hot glue.

2

Take a coordinating color of lacing cord and start wrapping it around the bangle. Go over and under the horizontal cords with the first wrap and then alternate by going under and over the cords on the second wrap.

3

Keep wrapping, pushing the cords close together with your finger as you go. This is a good time to catch up on your favorite Housewives because the wrapping can take a bit of time. If you want to add in a section with a different design, just cover up the ends of the horizontal cords when you start wrapping with a new color.

4

When the wrap goes all the way around the bangle, finish by cutting the cords and hot gluing the ends in place. Then wrap a small section of cord around the starting point to cover up any exposed ends.

Have fun playing around with colors and designs!
